Orlin Milchev was born in 1987 in Sofia. He graduated from the 33rd EG “Sveta Sofia” with English and French. In 2016, he graduated with honors in film and television directing at NATFIZ Krastyo Sarafov, in the class of Academician Lyudmil Staykov.
In 2014, he directed the course short film “Teacher” (18 min). The film was selected by several international student film festivals and the Golden Rose festival.
2016 graduated with the short film “Dobry” (30 min), which was selected in the program of a number of prestigious Bulgarian and international festivals – Golden Rose, Jameson short film festival, Aesthetica short film festival, VGIC Moscow, etc. The film won an award for the best Bulgarian short film at the “Early Chicken” festival, as well as an award in the national program of the In The Palace film festival.
In 2017, he completed a master class in film directing at the International Filmmaking Academy (IFA) in Italy, under the guidance of the legendary Hungarian director Béla Tár. There he shot the short feature film “The Master”.
In parallel with feature films, he also directed a large number of music videos and advertising formats.
In the period 2017-2019, he directed the web series “Apartment 404”, “Kill the Professor”, “The Rookie”, “10 First Dates”, “The Salon” and other productions for the company Net Info.
At the beginning of 2019, he directed the dramatic mini-series “Flight to the Bottom” as part of a national anti-drug campaign.
In mid-2020, he directed 10 episodes of the crime TV series “Brothers” season 1, on Nova TV.
